The said locking mechanisms coupled together to form at least one locking unit are inserted into the inside of the hollow profile. The post housing 11 and/or the locking unit/units are complemented by members via openings situated in the post housing 11. The invention also concerns a post which comprises at least one platform-locking mechanism 28 arranged in a post housing 11 for the purpose of locking the post 10 to a platform attachment 20 arranged on the loading platform, and a flap-locking mechanism 29 for locking at least one loading flap 18 to the post, and optionally a third locking mechanism 32 for locking an extension part 31 to the top of the post, which locking mechanisms can be actuated by means of a common manoeuvring arm 25. The post housing 11 consists of a hollow profile 12 of closed cross section in which openings 24, 26 are made for members cooperating with each locking mechanism. The inside of the hollow profile 12 is divided up into at least two longitudinal channels 13, 14, the channel walls of one channel 14 being designed as slide and guide surfaces for at least some of the individual parts of the locking mechanisms 28, 29, 30, which can be coupled together outside the post housing 11 to form at least one continuous locking unit and can be inserted into the channel 11. The other channel 13 is intended to receive strengthening 65 and/or extension 31 devices.
