PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new NADH kinase gene coding for a specific amino acid sequence or a sequence having NADH kinase activity wherein a part of the amino acid sequence is mutated and capable of efficiently producing an NADH kinase useful for a high-sensitivity determination of various enzymes, etc. ;SOLUTION: This new NADH kinase gene or a new recombinant DNA codes for an amino acid sequence expressed by the formula or an amino acid sequence inducing NADH kinase activity wherein one or plural amino acids are added, deleted or substituted in the amino acid sequence and is useful for efficiently producing NADH kinase in genetic engineering. The NADH kinase gene is obtained by isolating a chromosome DNA from a yeast of genus Pichia, manufacturing a genomic DNA library in a usual method by using the isolated DNA, screening the library by using an oligonucleotide corresponding to a part of an NADH kinase gene as a probe, selecting a positive clone and recovering its DNA.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
