PURPOSE: To obtain an optical sensor which prevents the performance of a detection from being dropped and which prevents the generation of such a state that a detection cannot be performed by reducing drops of water which are stuck to a light projecting face and a light receiving face. ;CONSTITUTION: A light projecting face 19 which transmits liquid from a light- emitting element to project it to the outside of a case 4 and a light-receiving face 20 which transmits the light projected from the light projecting face 19 to guided to a photodetector at the inside of a case 5, are installed on a base 9 so as to be opposed to each other. Protruding and recessed faces composed of rough faces around light transmitting parts 21 which transmit light are formed on the light projecting face 19 and the light receiving face 20. Even when drops of water are stuck to the light projecting face 19 and the light receiving face 20 so as to stretch over the light transmitting parts 21, most of the drops of water flow into recessed parts in the protruding and recessed faces in the circumference.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
