WHITE SMOKE PREVENTION APPARATUS OF CLOSED CROSSFLOW COOLING TOWER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent humidity in high temperature and humidity air from becoming a white smoke state, the high temperature and humidity air being exhausted from a cooling tower even when fresh air temperature is lowered in the winter season with a simplified structure. ;SOLUTION: A closed crossflow cooling tower is adapted such that fillers 6 and a heat exchanger 7 are disposed below an upper water tank 4 halved left and right, and a lower water tank 8 and a sprinkling water pump 9 are commonly disposed on the lowermost part, and that process water from a load is cooled with sprinkled water and air in left and right heat exchangers 7, and the sprinkled water is cooled with the aid of direct contact with air in the left and right fillers 7. In the cooling tower, water amount adjusting valve equipped flow diverter tanks 5 are provided in upper water tanks 4 halved left and right. An inlet side of each flow diverter tank 5 and an outlet side of the sprinkling pump 9 are connected with each other through branched water sprinkling pipings 10, 11. Bypass pipes 23, 24 are connected in the middle of the water sprinkling pipings 10, 11 through three-way valves 12, 13, and hereby the sprinkling water is selectively directed to directly flow to the lower warter tank 8.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
