WHITE SMOKE PREVENTION APPARATUS OF CLOSED CROSSFLOW COOLING TOWER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent white smoke such that moisture in air exhausted from a cooling tower is prevented from becoming a supersaturated state. ;SOLUTION: A closed crossflow cooling tower 1 is adapted such that left and right heat exchangers 7 are oppositely formed in a body 1 below upper water tanks 4 divided into two left and right, and a lower water tank 8 and a water sprinkling pump 9 are commonly disposed on a lowermost part, and that process water is cooled with sprinkling water and air, and the sprinkling water is cooled in direct contact with air. In the cooling tower 1, water amount adjusting valve-equipped flow diverter tanks 5 are provided in both upper water tanks 4, and a water feed pipe from the pump 9 is branched to which sprinkling water pipings 10, 11 are connected, and the tip end is further connected with an inlet side of each flow diverter tank 5. A bypass piping 13 is connected with the one water sprinkling piping 10 through a three-way valve 12, and sprinkling water fed to the upper water tank 4 on the side where the three-way valve 12 is connected is selectively directed to directly flow out to the lower water tank 8.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
