PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform suitable fusing by directly setting the condition in fusing using an EF joint from the actual object to be joined. ;SOLUTION: A control means 10 receives the electrification condition that is characteristics such as a resistance value measured by a measuring means 14, via a characteristic input means 17, in fusion of PE pipes 12, 13 by an EF joint 11, and performs simulation according to a program 18, and determines the fusing condition so that the interface temperature as a factor required for determination of the fusing condition may fall in a certain range. Electric power to be supplied from a power source 19 to a heating wire 16 is controlled according to the determined fusing condition, and suitable fusing can be performed while avoiding the situation in which fusing strength is insufficient caused by excessive heating, deterioration, or too little heating.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
