METHOD FOR IMPARTING QUALITY INFORMATION OF GEM AND MACHINE FOR ISSUING JUDGEMENT REPORT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure coincidence between a gem and a judgement report thereof during the process after finishing judgement before cutting thereof by putting a collation code of judgement report to a bag body when a judged gem is sealed up in the bag body. ;SOLUTION: Upon finishing judgement of a gem 10, a gem judging unit 12 determines the collation code of the gem 10 which is then transferred to a bar code printer 16 and to a video printer 14 along with a judgement report data. The printer 14 prints the judgement report data on a judgement report paper and writes a bar code 22, obtained by converting the collation code, on a part of judgement report 20. On the other hand, the printer 16 converts the collation code into a bar code 22 which is then printed on a laminate film 21 being fed to a seal up unit 17. The unit 17 seals up a judged gem 10 in the film 21 printed with the bar code 22. Consequently, coincidence between the gem 10 in a sealed bag 23 and the judgement report 20 can be determined by collating the bar code 22 before the bag 23 is unsealed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
