PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve reduction of material cost and improvement of work owing to shortening of a length of lead wire and prevent corrosion of an electric heating wire due to moisture to provide a long-term usability under high temperature and humidity environment in association with an electric heating wire heater, which is used as a heat source for defrosting of a cooler for refrigerator, freezing stores and the like, and a defrosting device which uses the electric heating wire heater. ;SOLUTION: A coil-shaped electric heating wire 1 is received in a glass tube 2, which is curved in U-shape, and first caps 5 made of a heat resisting material cover opened ends of aligned straight tube portions of the glass tube 2, which is curved in U-shape.
