PURPOSE: To obtain a shape-keeping rod giving excellent wearability when used in clothes, usable in clothes in large amount without increasing the total weight of the clothes, washable with water and returning to the original straight state without exceeding the elastic limit even by applying a bending force to bend the rod at an angle exceeding a limit and to obtain a foundation produced by using the shape-keeping rod. ;CONSTITUTION: This shape-keeping rod is produced by producing a continuous core wire material 1 made of a prescribed synthetic resin material and having an outer diameter of ≥1mm and a prescribed bending strength, arranging ≤3 core wire materials 1 in parallel, applying plural warps 3, 4, 5 on the outer circumference of the core wire materials 1, placing a weft 6 nearly perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the core wire material and sewn into the warps to cover the outer circumference of the core wire material, passing an entwining yarn 2 through the gap between the parallelly arranged core wire materials, weaving the entwining yarn into the weft 6 to form the whole assembly in nearly flat shape, immersing the sewn material and drying the product.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
