EXPRESSION CASSETTE CAPABLE OF IMPARTING MEDICINE METABOLIZING FUNCTION AND USE OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an expression cassette containing a promoter and terminator functioning in plant cells and a fused gene of a chlorophyll transferring signal peptide gene with a cytohrome p450 derived from a non plant body and capable of imparting a medicine metabolizing function to a plant. ;SOLUTION: This new expression cassette has (A) a promotor capable of functioning in plant cells, (B) a fused gene of a gene encoding a signal peptide for chlorophyll transfer expressed by the formula with a gene of a cytochrome P450 derived from a non plant body and (C) a terminator capable of functioning in plant cells, and can efficiently impart a medicine metabolizing function to a plant by introducing the same into the plant cells. The expression cassette is obtained by functionally joining 35S promoter derived from cauliflower mosaic virus as the promotor capable of functioning in the plant cells, and a NOS terminator derived from T-DNA, etc., as the terminator capable of functioning in the above fused gene and in the plant cells.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
