PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the chipping of an edge or the catching of a metal strip chip by providing a pair of upper and lower elastic or rigid central pressing rolls of free rolls on the axial line inside of a disc cutter axis in such a manner as to nip a metal strip. ;SOLUTION: Each pair of upper and lower pressing rolls 20a, 20b, 20c are provided on the axial line inside of a disc cutter axis in such a manner as to nip a metal strip 1. Since the central presser rolls 20a press the product part of the metal strip 1, they are preferably formed of an elastic body hardly flowing it. The upper and lower central pressing rolls 20a have an opening and closing structure for replacing the disc cutter. An upper pressing roll bearing frame is vertically moved to regulate the pressing roll space according to the thickness of the metal strip 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
