PRODUCTION OF LOW CARBON THIN STEEL SHEET GOOD IN SURFACE PROPERTY AND EARING CHARACTERISTIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve ridging characteristics and earing characteristics at the time of α region hot rolling, in the production of a low carbon thin steel sheet in which the content of carbon is regulated to specified value or below, by regulating the surface roughness of a rolling roll to specified value or above and the coiling temp. the hot rolling coil to specified temp. or above. ;SOLUTION: This is a method for producing a low carbon thin steel sheet good in surface properties (denoting those deteriorated by the low hot rolling temp. of the Ar₃ transformation point or below to precipitate α phases) and earing characteristics in which, in the production of a low carbon thin steel sheet having ≤0.1wt.% C content, at the time of the above steel to hot rolling, the surface roughness of a rolling roll used for finish rolling is regulated to ≥1.5μm, and the coiling temp. of a hot rolling coil is regulated to ≥600°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
