STEEL EXCELLENT IN CORROSION RESISTANCE IN CARBON DIOXIDE-CONTAINING CONDENSED WATER ENVIRONMENT

PURPOSE: To produce a steel excellent in corrosion resistance in a carbon dioxide-contg. condensed water environment by preparing a chemical compsn. contg. specified wt.% of C, Cr or the like in which the relationships among the contained elements are regulated to specified ones, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. ;CONSTITUTION: The components of a steel are composed of the ones contg., by weight, 0.01 to 0.05% C, ≤0.5% Si, ≤2% Mn, ≤0.03% P, ≤0.002% S, ≤0.015% N, 8 to 13% Cr, 0 to 1.0% Ni, 0 to 0.8% Cu, 0 to 1% Mo, 0 to 0.10% Nb, 0 to 0.05% Al, 0 to 0.01% Ca, 0 to 0.01% Mg, 0 to 0.01% rare earth metals and 0 to 0.002% B, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. Moreover, the inequalities I and II and the formula III are satisfied. Each atomic symbol in the inequalities I and II and the formula III denotes the content (wt.%) of each element in the steel. Thus, the material suitable for the members for the flues and funnels of generating equipment using LNG as fuel, for recuperators for LNG combustion exhaust gases or the like can be provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
