PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording powder which can be used in an environment subjected to magnetic noise. ;SOLUTION: A low Curie point magnetic recording powder contains one or two kinds selected from strontium oxide and 14 to 20% of barium oxide, 20 to 40% of chromium oxide, 2 to 15% of copper oxide, 2 to 15% of one or two or more kinds selected from titanium oxide, zirconium oxide and tin oxide, and the balance consisting of ferrous oxide and inevitable impurities. The above- mentioned magnetic recording powder has a magnesium oxide film, a calcium oxide film or a strontium oxide film formed on the surface of the composite oxide powder of a hexagonal ferrite type crystal structure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
