PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically print agate at side of KANJI (Chinese character) of a proper noun at the time of a KANA/KANJI conversion. SOLUTION: The KANA character that an inputting person inputs from a keyboard 1 is stored in a memory 2 till a KANA/KANJI conversion is terminated. The KANA/KANJI conversion is terminated by depressing a determination key after the inputting person depresses a non-conversion key or depresses the KANA/KANJI conversion key or a proper noun KANA/KANJI conversion key. When the inputting person depresses the proper noun KANA/KANJI conversion key, a proper noun KANA/KANJI conversion means 4 acquires a KANA character from the memory 2 and retrieves a KANA/KANJI dictionary 21 on condition of the KANA character and the proper noun. The proper noun KANA/ KANJI conversion means 4 displays a pertinent KANJI candidate on a display 3 and requests the inputting person to perform a selection. When the inputting person depresses the determination key, the proper noun KANA/ KANJI conversion means 4 prints the KANA acquired from the memory 2 on the KANJI on the display 3.
