PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image error judgement/decoding device in which image transmission quality is much improved with a simple circuit and procedure. ;SOLUTION: Whether or not an image signal given to a specified range judgement section 103 is within a specified range is judged and when the signal is within the specified range, its information (info1) is generated and given to an image display section 102. The image display section 102 receiving the information displays an image signal from a decoding section 101 as it is. On the other hand, the specified range judgement section 103 judges whether or not the decoded image signal is within the specified range and when not within the specified range, the information (info1) representing it is generated and given to the image display section 102. The image display section 102 receiving the information does not display the image signal from the image decoding section 101 as it is, but displays an image of, e.g. a preceding frame.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
