PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep safety for a student taking refuge under a desk by making framing into metallic materials, fitting a top plate and a rack board at the upper part of the desk and surrounding the whole part or a part around leg parts with a protection panel excepting for the front parts of the desk. ;SOLUTION: A top plate 2 is fixed on a crossbeam member 1 made of cylindrical steel pipes together with a rack board 6. Leg parts 3 made of steel pipes are hung to this crossbeam member 1, the upper end parts of their 1st leg parts 3a are fixed, and 2nd leg parts 3b are inserted through plural adjust holes 3c and bolts 3d into the 1st leg parts 3a so as to be freely fitted/ contracted. Linking members 4 are fixed between the respective 1st leg parts excepting for the front part of the desk, and both the side parts of the 2nd leg parts 3b are linked by linking members 5. Besides, at the section surrounded by the leg parts 3, the rack board 6 opening its front part is fixed to the crossbeam member 1, and the upper part of the respective leg parts 3 is surrounded by a protection panel 7 made from a steel plate excepting for the front side. When a student takes refuge under this desk in case of earthquake, since the desk is metallic it is not crushed and besides, even when objects fly around, they can be blocked by the protection panel 7.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
