PURPOSE: To realize compactness, high power factor and high efficiency by providing at least one wiring to a core having a gap in a part of a magnetic path thereof to set an outer diameter, an inner diameter, a height and effective initial permeability in a range of a specified value. ;CONSTITUTION: A nano crystal soft magnetic alloy thin band mainly composed of Fe wherein nano crystal grains occupy 50% or more of the entirety of a volume of structure is used. In a core wherein an outer diameter Do, an inner diameter Di and a height H satisfy a relationship of 15mm≤[(Do+Di)/2]≤85mm, 1.5≤Do/Di≤2.5, a gap is provided to a part of a magnetic path thereof so that effective initial permeability Mie is 100≤Mie≤300. According to this constitution, a choke coil which has low temperature rise of a magnetic core caused by in-plane eddy current loss, is compact and has enough storage energy for an active filter can be obtained and temperature rise due to compactness and low loss of a choke coil can be restrained and a countermeasure can be taken against the problem of squeak.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
