PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive system in which the idle channel of a CATV network is used to make communication of each mobile set available mutually without the need of each metallic wire cable for a base station element for a personal handy phone system. ;SOLUTION: A center 100 contains an exchange 101 and a master set 111 for a personal handy phone system and connects to one terminal of a coaxial line 102 being a component of a CATV network. The exchange station 101 conducts exchange control for a communication signal sent via each coaxial line of the CATV network between the CATV networks and registers a position of a mobile equipment 108 to conduct call connection management with respect to the exchange control of a communication signal. When the mobile equipment 108 makes hook on, a terminal equipment modulates a received communication signal with a QPSK signal and the signal is sent to the center 100 via a branching filter and a coaxial line 102. The center 100 demodulates the signal with a demodulator 118 to conduct position registration or signal exchange. Thus, the system is built up by using the CATV network as transmission lines without revising a communication protocol of the mobile equipment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
