Spectral absorption characteristics of the dyes formed a good silver halide photographic light-sensitive material

PURPOSE:To obtain a sensitive material having improved color reproducibility by incorporating at least one kind of magenta coupler represented by a prescribed formula and at least one kind of compd. having a prescribed compsn. into at least one of silver halide emulsion layers. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of magenta coupler represented by formula I and at least one kind of compd. represented by formula II are incorporated into at least one of silver halide emulsion layers. In the formula I, Z is a group of nonmetallic atoms required to form an N-contg. heterocyclic ring which may have a substituent, X is H atom or a group releasable by a reaction with the oxidized product of a color developing agent and R is H atom or a substituent. In the formula II, each of R1 and R2 is an aliphat. group or an N-contg. heterocyclic group, J is a bivalent org. group and l=0 or 1. A silver halide photographic sensitive material having improved color reproducibility can be obtd. The sensitive material forms a magenta dye image having a fine hue and the absorption on the longer wavelength side diminishes sharply to zero.
