PURPOSE:To shorten a tact time of welding by keeping the fackward movement of an electrode chip for each welding position to an irreducible minimum. CONSTITUTION:A pressurizing cylinder 2 actuating an electrode chip 1a has a piston 7 actuating a rod 10 to a pressurizing beginning position and a pressurizing piston 12 actuating the rod to a pressurizing position. A direction switching solenoid valve 20 is connected to a stroke tube part 4 arranged with the piston 7. A proportional control solenoid valve 23 is connected to the pressurizing tube part 5 arranged with the pressurizing piston 12. On the pressurizing cylinder 2, a brake room 17 acted with a brake controlling solenoid valve 25 and an encoder 18 detecting the stroke position of the rod 10 are arranged. Solenoids S1, S2 of each solenoid valve 20, 25 are connected to a controller 26 through driving parts 27a, 27b. A variable actuator A of the proportional control solenoid valve 23 is connected to the controller 26 through a driving part 27c.
