PURPOSE:To obtain heavy weight concrete having excellent chemical properties and excellent mechanical characteristics, by curing and setting a mixture comprising an ore of iron oxide as a coarse aggregate, iron sand as fine aggregate, cement paste, fumed silica and an organic polymer dispersion in a specific ratio in a mold. CONSTITUTION:A mixture for production of heavy weight concrete comprising 70-90wt.% total amounts of an ore of iron oxide as a coarse aggregate and iron sand as fine aggregate, 8-30wt.% cement paste having 0.3-0.7 ratio of water/ cement, 0.1-3wt.% fumed silica having 2.5-20% ratio of fused silica/cement and 0.05-3wt.% (solid content) organic polymer dispersion is prepared. In the preparation, the ratio of the organic polymer/cement is 2-20% and total amounts of fumed silica and the organic polymer dispersion are not allowed to exceed =4wt.%. Then the mixture is put in a mold, cured and set to give heavy weight concrete having high compression strength, tensile strength, improved wear and high specific gravity.
