Converts the assembler source program to the COBOL source program the device

PURPOSE:To accurately attain the automatic conversion of programs in a short time by performing the mechanical analysis of an assembler source program via a program conversion means and then performing mechanical rearrangement of the data and code parts of a COBOL source program via a data/code part synthesization means. CONSTITUTION:The corresponding COBOL header part and environment part display are written into a COBOL source program editing file 4. Then a file name is written out of a file table 10 in a COBOL file defining form together with a data part display. Thus the file name, the buffer name and the buffer length are written out of the table 10 based on the file definition. Then all COBOL data parts are written and the result of conversion of the data name and the data length of a data table 9 into the COBOL data display is written. Then a procedure part display is written and the COBOL code part is written for each record. Thus it is possible to accurately, and automatically convert an assembler source program into a COBOL source program in a short time.
