Aminopyridinylmethanols, aminomethylpyridine amides and derivatives thereof of the general formula I in which they have X, R @ 1, R @ 2, R @ 2, R @ 2. and R.sub.3.n. of particular importance that can be used as medicaments for the treatment of memory dysfunctions characterized by a cholinergic deficiency such as Alzheimer's disease. They also have analgesic activity and anti-inflammatory activity and can be used to treat various dermatoses.
