The invention relates to apparatus for registering a pulse curve, said apparatus consisting of an IR emitter and a light receptor with a light-sensitive element. The light receptor has an opening for applying against the skin and the light sensitive element lies at a distance from said opening so that the light receptor's dimensions correspond with the equations 4 IMAGE L/d IMAGE 6 and 2 IMAGE H/d IMAGE 3, wherein L is the interaxial distance between the IR emitter and the light receptor, d is the diameter of the input opening of the IR light receptor, H is the distance between the plane of the light receptor's input opening and the light sensitive element. The invention enables the improvement of the quality of a registered pulse curve which is used to determine the RR interval and the automatic obtaining thereafter of cardiac and circulatory indices. The invention can be exploited in examinations which aim to find and preliminarily diagnose cardiac and circulatory disturbances. IMAGE
