A method for breeding a hybrid plant of the Rutaceae family by utilizing a somatic hybrid plant comprising using as parent plant a somatic hybrid plant of the Rutaceae family produced by means of cell fusion, and hybridizing the somatic hybrid plant with another species of plant of the Rutaceae family, characterized in that said hybridizing between the somatic hybrid plant obtained by the above cell fusion and the another species of plant of the Rutaceae family is carried out by emasculating the flowers of either of them on the day or two days before flowering to remove stamens and leave pistils, pollinating the pistils with the pollen of the other of them and conducting breeding and cultivation by a conventional method.
