A syringe of the type containing a liquid solvent and a substance in powder or freeze-dried form is described, the said syringe being such as to permit mixing of the solvent and the powder substance or freeze-dried substance of extremely simple, economical and safe construction. The construction and details of a syringe so constructed are such as to bring about effective and rapid single-dose freeze-drying introducing a further "negative heat" point within the substance which has to be freeze-dried.
