Hypertonic aqueous solutions for the first aid treatment of shock conditions, in particular haemorrhagic shock, containing sodium chloride and dextran, characterized in that they comprise: from 5 to 10% and preferably from 6 to 8% sodium chloride, from 3 to 10% and preferably from 5 to 7% of dextran having a molecular weight of 40,000 to 70,000, from 30 to 60 and preferably from 40 to 50 mmol/l of sodium bicarbonate, and from 0.3 to 3 and preferably from 1 to 2 mmol/l of allopurinol.
