the invention relates to a capacitive discharge ignition system incorporating a two terminal passive network is used to control the discharge of a capacitive energy storage device in a spark plug, includes a semiconductor switch is used to open alternatively high and low resistive path between the two terminals.in order to connect selectively the capacitive energy storage device to the spark plug.the passive network includes means responsive to a predetermined value of a voltage difference (deltav) between the two terminals, in order to perform the switching of the path between the two terminals on semiconductor switch for a high ohmic value to the vale ur t lowthus controlling the discharge of the capacitive energy storage device to the spark plug. in the embodiment shown, the semiconductor switch is a series of thyristors (scrs), the anode is connected to the triggering of the thyristor gate by means of a four layer diode (bod).
