Heterogeneous catalyst for preparing alternating olefin/carbon monoxide copolymers

A catalyst active in the preparation of alternating olefin/carbon monoxide (CO) copolymers is constituted by:(a) Pd(O₂CNEt₂)₂(NHEt₂)₂ supported on a solid carrier preferably constituted by hydroxylated silica,(b) an either mono- or bidentate ligand containing one or two nitrogen or phosphorous atoms capable of linking to Pd atom by dative bonds,(c) NOBF₄.;Disclosed are the preparation of the catalyst and the use of said catalyst in alternated copolymerization of ethylene (C2) and/or other olefins with carbon monoxide (CO).
