TRANSPORT DEVICE FOR A CONTINUOUS MOVING WEB OF MATERIAL, IN PARTICULAR A STRETCHING DEVICE FOR PLASTIC FILM WEBS

This transporter for moving sheet, esp. for stretching plastic sheet, has linear motors (5', 5'') on each side of the sheet plane (11) with a guide rail system (3) parallel to it. Clip units (1) move along the rails, to grip and stretch the sheet. This original layout has twin guide rails, one on each side of the moving sheet. One motor (5') and rail (3') lie above the plane of the material, the others (5'',3'') lie below. Whilst guide rails share a plane (RK) transverse to that of the sheet, the lower motor is laterally displaced from this plane, to lie beneath the sheet. The upper motor has a corresponding displacement in the opposite direction, away from the sheet. The clips are at least partially slide-mounted.
