Nucleic acid sequences comprising at least one phage resistance mechanism are new, where the sequences are selected from: (i) two DNA sequences of 3704 and 1345 bp given in the specification; (ii) sequences hybridising with the sequences of (i) or fragments of these; and (iii) the corresponding cDNA and mRNA sequences.
