The present invention relates to a catalyst for producing 2,4-dibutylbutylphenol from phenol and isobutylene and a method for producing 2,4-dibutylbutylphenol using the catalyst.;This catalyst was prepared by uniformly mixing an aqueous solution of pseudoboehmite or colloidal silica with activated clay, extruding it into pellets, and then firing.;The catalyst used in the present invention is very industrially useful because it has excellent reaction activity and selectivity, so that it can be used not only in a batch reaction but also in a fixed bed reactor for continuous production.
