AUTOMATIC PULSE CHARGER FOR CONTINUOUS LONG-DURATION CHARGING OF AUTOMOBILE STORAGE BATTERY FROM AC NETWORK

FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: automatic pulse charger is built on base of skeleton diagram incorporating transformer, rectifier, current limiting elements, controlling element limiting charging current and voltage and unit for protection against short-circuit in cell jars of storage battery and wrong connection of polarity. It is inserted with element for protection of storage battery against short-circuit in line connecting iy to charger and two indicators; red one indicating emergency mode and green one indicating normal charging process. Controlling element forms charging current equal to self-discharge current of storage battery in process of its storage which prevents its full discharge and provides for its constant readiness for operation. Unit for protection executes diagnostic function comparing emf of storage battery with reference voltage of serviceable battery. EFFECT: enhanced operational efficiency and reliable protection of storage battery. 3 cl, 1 dwg
