FIELD: powder metallurgy, in particular, production of titanium-nickel alloy close to equivalent composition of titanium nickeline possessing form memory and high damping effect. SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing titanium and nickel powders taken in the ratio of 55-57% by weight of nickel and titanium the balance; subjecting obtained mixture to cyclic diffusion thermal treatment, with mixture being supplied in free flowing state. Thermal treatment is initiated with heating to temperature of 600 C with further elevating of temperature by 50 C in each subsequent cycle till temperature of 1,050 C is reached, with holding time of 1 hour being provided beginning from 950 C under vacuum of 10-3 Pa. Titanium carbide is added into basic mixture in an amount of 0.5% by weight of basic mixture. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified method and improved quality of produced alloy. 2 cl
