METHOD FOR EVALUATING SOCIAL AND CULTURAL LEVEL IN ADMINISTRATIVE AREA

FIELD: medical diagnostics; sociology; public health organization. SUBSTANCE: inventive novelty of proposed method resides in subjecting team of children of pre-school age to examination to detect presence of caries. Examination is carried out every year by instrumental techniques using probe and mirror. Said team of children permanently lives all around clock in accordance with scientifically developed conditions and on healthy diet. At same time, in same administrative area (region, district, town, township, province), presence of caries is detected in another team of children of identical age and number. Children of latter team do not observe recommended mode of life and diet. If ratio of caries occurrence rates of both teams is equal to unity, this figure is assumed to be criterion of high social and cultural status of community in given administrative area. EFFECT: proposed method is simpler than conventional sociological methods; it needs less personnel and time per single study.
