FIELD: geological exploration, archeology, security, tracing of hidden communication lines. SUBSTANCE: device has excitation coil and at least one pair of coaxial receiving coils which are connected opposing-series. They are located in plane which is perpendicular to central axis of excitation coil. Design of at least one pair of receiving coils involves that they flange out of border of excitation coil. Preferable flange length is 1/3-2/3 of length of receiving coil. EFFECT: increased effective area of object detection, increased validity of identification of material of object.
