The method uses a slit capillary (5) between two planar surfaces in the flow channel, connected to pressure and flow measuring instruments. This capillary is curved, in a part circular section, with inflow (2) and outflow (4) points at either end. The difference in flow pressure in the substance, at two or more points in the capillary (6), at inner and outer points on the curve, is measured. The pressure difference at the entry point is deducted from this pressure difference,. The remaining figure indicates the viscoelasticity and flow characteristics of the substance under examination.
