Method and appts. for improving the surface of cast aluminium strip

The method for improving the surface of aluminium strip produced in continuous casting installations is characterised by the fact that after solidification of the strip it is subjected to repetitive bending in both directions. As a result the surface layer of the strip is broken up, so that after removal of this layer the strip surface is smoothed. Also claimed is an appts. for implementation of this method.
