Oil-soluble nitrogen-free corrosion inhibitors with good buffer effect

Proposed is the use, as corrosion inhibitors in oil-containing liquids, of nitrogen-free aromatic hydroxy compounds with a phenolic hydroxy group and with a pKS-value for the phenolic hydroxy group in the range 7.0 to 11, represented by esters or ketones.
