This interior side trim for a car, consists of fibre-reinforced plastic in a novel structure. This is prepared from a single- or multilayer blank (2), or intermediate product. It contains both reinforcing and plastic fibres. The reinforcing fibres are folded, wavy and/or gathered in the blank, and may be drawn, during a subsequent process of deformation. The plastic fibres may be similarly drawn, or alternatively stretched. In addition they are melted-on or fused; forming on cooling, a matrix around the reinforcing fibres. There are, at least in approximately horizontal regions (3-5), stronger reinforcement fibres and/or reinforcement fibres of a higher bulk density, which may form a thickened region of the door panelling.
