The method, for detecting deficiency in the water supply system of a refrigerator, is used in the supply of water from a water storage container using a supply pump. The method includes the counting of each operating time of the pump and accumulating these. The accumulated pump operating time is compared with an established pump utilization limit time. The exceeding of the established pump utilization time indicates that the water level is lower than a specified level, and an alarm is activated using a water deficiency level alarm LED (14).
