Rim (3) of a steering wheel has a layer (9) of thermoplastic plastic under its outer covering (11), enclosing a heating element (13). The heating element is pref. in the form of a zigzag wire and may be located on the outside of and fitting flush with the plastic. The rim can be completely injection moulded with thermoplastic plastic.
