A method for operating a position display unit or numerical control

An NC controlled machine tool has a keyboard for entry of required table positions relative to a cutting tool. Associated with the keyboard, the display screen of a VDU presents a tabulated format for the sequence of positions to be represented. Each position is numbered and has X,Y and Z axis values. Entry of data into each location is made using a box shaped marker (M) for identification. Once the table is complete the machine cycle can begin. Actual positions are indicated along the bottom of the screen. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides full display of programmed position coordinates.
