The aircraft propeller has tandem blades with each tandem pair consisting of two blades (1,2) mounted one behind the other, with the leading edge of the rear blade (2) overlapping the trailing edge of the front blade (1). A gap (4) is formed between the two blades. The chord of the rear blade is inclined at an angle (3) to the chord of the front blade. This angle (3) may be positive or negative. This tandem form of blade is not limited to blades with straight centre lines, and the principle can apply to arrow shaped or sabre shaped blades. USE/ADVANTAGE - Aircraft propeller blades with increased aerodynamic efficiency.
