The invention relates to a process intended for the labelling followed by the identifying of chosen areas inside images from a sequence. The steps consist in: (a) identifying an area to be labelled within an image; (b) labelling each pixel of the area with an identifying element; (c) storing each labelled pixel in a labelled portion of attached memory; (d) repeating these three steps for each area of each image; (e) interrogating the said memory in response to a choice, by a user, of a pixel location in a chosen area so as to tag a labelled portion corresponding to the said image; (f) evaluating the said corresponding labelled portion so as to tag an area-identifying element corresponding to the pixel location; and (g) identifying the said area-identifying element to the said computer as an indication of the said area. The invention also comprises a corresponding process for assisting a user in the choice of areas inside images, as well as to a corresponding success test path. IMAGE
