The knife, or other utensil, is formed with a handle (2) and a functional element, such as a blade (4). The utensil is provided with an identifying figurine (22), which is easily visible on the handle. The blade is linked to the handle by the blade extension (6), which is incorporated into the handle fittings, which consist of, at least the side covers (8, 10), mitre covers (12, 14), filling panels (16,18) and the rivets (20). The figurine is provided with the device (34, 36), to enable it to be incorporated within the handle. This device consists of a pair of legs (34, 36), which extend downwards and fit within the cut-outs formed in the filling panels of the handle. The figurine is attached by the end rivet.
