The crate has two inclined side walls (3,4) and two double thickness side walls (17,18) with breathing holes. It has an uneven double thickness bottom. The crate has a cover (5) a part of which constitutes a hatch. Cover side flaps (6a,6b) are introduced into the space left between the inclined side walls. The cover and/or the hatch also has breathing holes. The cover and/or the hatch are provided with locking tabs (12) which engage in openings (13)in one side wall (3). They also have lateral tabs (5a,5b) which can be folded down inside the crate in order to reduce the space between the cover and side walls. Two side walls (17,18) have tenons (16) and stacking notches (15) and do not have opening in their lower part.
