Prosthesis for restoring articulation between two bones, e.g. intervertebral prosthesis

The prosthesis includes a first support plate (3), and first members for connecting this first support plate to a first bone. There is a second support plate (4) and second member for connecting this second plate support to the bone. The member (10) connects the two support plates such that they are parallel and delimit a space (11) between them. They pivot one w.r.t other principally about an axis (12) perpendicular to their general plane (P3,P4). The members for connecting the two support plates include four strips (21-24), each one having a width clearly more than their thickness but less than the distance (27) separating the two support plates. The four strips are made of a material having a certain resilience and is fixed at the first of their ends on this axis such that their widths are parallel to this axis in such a fashion as to form a cross with two branches (29,30).
