Methods are disclosed for increasing ribozyme catalytic activity without reducing specificity, which methods comprise contacting an RNA molecule with a ribozyme and a facilitator oligonucleotide. P PThe present invention further provides compositions comprising a ribozyme and an effective amount of a facilitator oligonucleotide.
